Wow, it's really been this long since the site launched? And it's really been this long for the new design to go up?
I blame commercialism, since it's keeping me too busy.
Now, since this little mistake I made launched the redesign too early I guess I'll have to finish the programming as well. Oy vey.
This site is basically, so far, the online-interface for two gamers and their deal on how to run through games. It started with one of them copying the other by writing down what games he wanted to play, to get an overview and keep track. Shortly after, and it was decided that the other would select which game on the list to tackle next. It escalated again, when the idea that a criteria could be added to a game; a special goal that would be required, other than clearing the game, to recognize it as finished.
The fruit that this agreement would eventually bear is this site. Here, they will post their lists of games as well as write down their thoughts of the games. In an effort to bring something new to the table, they will post a piece prior to playing the game, resulting in a clear view of how the perception of a game can change from before and after actually playing it.
Both writers have been gamers for most of their lives. They met through a shared interest outside gaming and eventually built a friendship online. Having a "serious" project online was something that they both have wanted for quite some time, but a good target had never appeared. When this concept was presented it was agreed that it would be a fun project that could be taken serious, without consuming either full-time.
When it comes to gear, the writers are similar, except for a few thing. At the time of writing, for instance, one has a Microsoft® Xbox 360™ and the other a Sony® Playstation 3™.
